best county fair in ohio
I had the pleasure of visiting my home county fair last weekend. I grew up in Wayne County Ohio and always attended the county fair when I was younger. Living in a rural area we always looked forward to Fair Day - when we got a day off school to go to the fair.
It has been many years since I have been back to the fair and I realize what I took for granted all these years. This fair is really a terrific fair.
I especially enjoy the barns with the produce and pies with blue ribbons!!
What makes for blue ribbon hay I wondered?
If you ever have the opportunity to go to the Wayne County Fair - check it out.
While we were there we also went to the Quailcrest Farm Herb Fair, which is always a wonderful afternoon.

craft day- velvet pumpkins
I started worrying that we might not have many pumpkins to sell this fall.
The weather has just been really hard this year - first all the rain and it was too wet to plant...
Then, when we did get things planted, there was no rain...
then, there were the bugs .... and then, the weeds...sigh....
So, I started thinking how will I still have the look of Fall without all my dear pumpkins.
I decided to make some!
We have been making sweet little velvet pumpkins.
These are wonderful to decorate your home with and last year after year.
french market
I recently just got back from Paris.
One of my favorite places on earth.
Everything about it is beautiful.
Everything about it is beautiful.
I thought I would share a few of my favorite pictures.
It is amazing to me that they can set up for just a couple of hours in the morning and look this amazing! Yum!!
The bread, the fruits, the wine, and oh the cheese and butter!!
I love the markets in France. They make you want to buy (and eat!) everything.
Being a farmer and an artist, I really appreciate the beauty of the food displays.

Fall Sale two weeks away!
The Fall Sale is just two weeks away!
So much to do! I hope we get it all done!
It takes the whole family to get ready for the Sale. My daughter helps me with the crafting and setting up, my sister does the baking, my husband get the pumpkins and mums ready and my son has been helping me by taking pictures for the blog. He has been doing a really great job - here is one of his shots.

bottles, bottles, bottles...
I have been obsessed with bottles. Most obsessed with blue ball jars. While doing the longest yard sale, I just kept buying and buying them until my husband told me I had to stop.
Hopefully others will find the beauty in them and buy them up at our Fall Barn Sale!
I have WAY too many!
I bought all kinds of bottles. Wine bottles, beer bottles, whiskey bottles, medicine bottles, syrup bottles!
I began wondering if the South had an obsession with drinking the reason why I found them so plentiful, or if I was just obsessed with them!
I have been doing all types of things with them. Here are some pictures to show you the many things you can do with bottles.

craft day - ribbon
In the past we have made beautiful hangtags, stamped pencils, decoupaged clipboards, iron on bags, stamped jewelry and many other things.
A couple weeks ago we dyed ribbon.
